Brian V. Wesley – Chair

Brian has thirty-two years of management experience in the telecommunications industry. He served as National Sales Director for Telecom Canada, Founder and Managing Director of Discovery Learning, and Managing Director of Strategic Markets for BC Tel. He also has over forty years of accumulated experience serving on community, not-for-profit boards. He currently operates SmartSolutions, a management consulting company, and acts as the Chair of the Greater Victoria Economic Development Commission. He is a member of the Board of the Science Council Computers for Schools, and served as a member of the Board of the Royal BC Museum, the David Foster Foundation and the Vancouver Island Advanced Technology Center.

Anthony Martin, C.A. – Vice-Chair & CFO

Anthony has recently served as the CFO and President & CEO of Canada’s largest gaming company, leading the company growth from 1,200 employees to over 5,000. He successfully completed a $700 million dollar restructuring of the company, delivered a $200 million dollar hotel and $100 million dollar casino, and expanded its base of operations from B.C across the country. A chartered accountant by profession, Anthony was previously the CFO, COO and President/CEO for Data West Solutions where they funded and built a national service firm for credit unions across Canada. Data West operated an international consulting group and operated the largest network of non-bank ATM’s in Canada. Tony is a former KPMG audit professional.

David P. Wesley – President & CEO (Director)

One of the co-Founders of AlertStar, David brings 12 years of extensive hands-on management experience to the team. He was formerly a Director of Knowledge Management for a leading Economic Development agency in B.C, an Excellence in Customer Service trainer for one of the largest luxury hotel chains in North America, a VP of Business Development for an emerging ‘green’ technology company, a marketing manager for a leading telecommunications training provider, and a consultant to several companies looking seeking start-up expertise. David has international business experience in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Middle East. His specialties are in the areas of finance, operations, business development, consulting, and project management. David holds an MBA in Executive Management with a specialization in Management Consulting, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Project Management.

Michael A. Kynaston – Director

Mike is a veteran senior executive with over 30 years of international business experience. As a seasoned entrepreneur, he has successfully owned several businesses in the retail sector and spearheaded a public/private partnership for the re-training of human resources. Mike is currently the President and CEO of Whitby Investments Ltd., a business solutions consulting company. He has served on numerous panels, task forces, committees and boards (both public and private).

Brad Erickson, C.A. - Director

Brad is an international private banking/wealth management senior executive with extensive experience in the areas of finance, capital management, strategic planning, process improvement, risk management and performance measurement. He has undertaken over nine successful corporate financing deals undertaken as Group Director of The Ansbacher Group (the international private banking arm of Qatar National Bank - FirstRand of South Africa until Nov 2004). Brad is a former KPMG audit professional and chartered accountant.

Rodger Gregory – Director

Rodger is a seasoned and successful entrepreneurial executive and currently serves as an entrepreneurial coach to several small businesses. He brought AAMCO transmission to British Columbia in 1971 with 8 locations throughout the province. Since then he has owned several Midas Muffler and Goodyear Tire stores and founded a ‘one stop shop’ concept for the automotive after-market service market. Rodger grew the concept into the largest privately owned multi-service automotive service organization in Canada.

Milton Lee – Political & Media/Public Relations

Milton has strong and extensive relationships that extend from City Councils, to the Arizona Senate and House and to national level contacts including senior political and government officials. Milton was the founder and served as the president of the Mesa United Way Foundation for over 25 years. He is a recipient of the Key to the City of Mesa. Milton has led AlertStar through the complex political landscape to secure significant political support at all levels of government.

Janice S. Strauss –Community/ Law Enforcement Liaison

Formerly the law enforcement liaison with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Jan has built a formidable and respected career in the law enforcement community. Jan served as the Mesa Police Chief and was Executive Director of the Arizona Association of Chiefs of Police. She was honored along with Sandra Day O’Connor as a nationally recognized female leader in law enforcement.
