Aural/Visual Warning

The right side system alerts children to use extra caution, when they are about to board or exit their bus in the 'danger' zone. The 'danger zone' is the area around the bus where children are in the most peril because the driver is less likely to see them. The 'danger zone' is 10 feet in front of the bus where the driver may be too high to see a child, 10 feet on either side of the bus where the child may be in the driver's blind spot, and the area behind the bus. The right side system uses high intensity LED lights and audible signals to warn children to stay out of the 'danger' zone when their bus is moving or about to move.

An important part of the AlertStar solution is a brief training program designed for young children who simply are not aware of the risks of being in 'the danger zone' whenever they board or exit their bus.
